Kikyou Works (“Operator”) describes below how information is handled in the Kaidoku app (“App”) for US operation.

1. Information We Process

  1. Information you provide: search keywords, inquiry details, and other text inputs.
  2. On-device data: preferences, enabled sources, display limits, and local search history.
  3. Technical data: request logs necessary for service operation, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and security.
  4. Images for inference: photos captured for price-tag scan/image search are transmitted to an inference service to generate product/query candidates.

2. Purposes of Processing

  1. Provide, maintain, and improve App features.
  2. Generate and return search/query results.
  3. Detect abuse, secure services, and debug incidents.
  4. Respond to user support and legal obligations.

3. Device Permissions

  1. Camera permission is used only for scan-related features initiated by you.
  2. Permission use is limited to what is necessary for the feature.

4. Sharing and External Services

  1. We may send necessary request data to external providers used by the App, including Amazon-related services and eBay-related services, to retrieve product information or open marketplace searches.
  2. We may use affiliate links. Purchases on external services are subject to those services’ terms and policies.
  3. We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.
  4. We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and service integrity.

5. Data Retention

  1. Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
  2. Server-side operational logs/inquiry records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, support, and legal compliance.
  3. Images used for inference are processed for the request and are not retained longer than operationally necessary.

6. Your US Privacy Rights

  1. Depending on your state (for example, California), you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, and information about categories of data processed.
  2. You may also have the right to appeal denial of a privacy request where required by applicable state law.

  4. We will verify requests and respond within timelines required by applicable law.

7. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed.

9. Cross-Border Processing

Data may be processed in countries other than your residence where our service providers operate.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted in the App or related page with an updated effective date.
